Here’s a small selection of pics from a bunch of hikes I’ve done since coming back to Taipei. Some of these were routes (or variations of routes) I’ve covered before so the relevant pages have been updated. A couple of them were new hikes for me but I want to go back and check out some alternative routes before writing them up, and a couple of new write-ups are Pingxi Crags and Xianjiyan

These are from Qingtian Grasslands in Yangmingshan Park, aka the “cow hike” due to roaming water buffalo. This hike was a straight-up leg from the Taipei Grand Trail so I’m not doing a full write-up for it, but it’s definitely a cool hike:

(the Taipei Grand Trail is a 7-leg hiking route around Taipei, which I’ve decided not to write a guide for as it’s been done so well already (see here). A lot of the hikes I have written guides for do include bits of the grand trail and I’ve walked most of it piecemeal, but I’m not doing a leg-by-leg write up)
These are from Datunshan, which was a very cool hike but I haven’t written it up yet:

Went back up Guanyinshan to try the route down to Bali district… turns out that way down is mostly a boring road hike, but great views up top anyway:
